Nvidia gets priority from TSMC after threatening to leave them

It will be interesting to see how AMD responds to it:

AMD and Nvidia really do behave like little spoilt kids, far to often. TSMC should send them to bed without their supper!

Dear TSMC, to prioritise who gets 'shotgun'. I suggest you ask the CEO's of Nvidia and AMD to either wrestle, see who can hold thier breath longest or if you want to be dull, as it's a Olympic year who can do 100 meters the fastest to resolve the issue.

Isn't the standard in tech circles a few rounds in Quakelive?

I didn't see AMD doing much complaining about the TSMC 28NM and 40NM processes.

    Edit!!

Interesting comments on the article, about the possible differences in the TSMC 28NM process which both AMD and Nvidia are using.

Exactly! When it comes to throwing golden rattles out prams, JHH is your CEO.

Nvidia is pretty much a one person show. All pluses are due to JHH. And all minuses are due to JHH too. That's just the way that show is run.

Having been burned by bumpgate, I'm avoiding Nvidia altogether but while that hardware QA issue may have been decisive for me, I don't deny that Nvidia makes some good stuff, and that their marketing is on a totally different magnitude from AMDs.

But I wonder if crying loudest is going to win them any long-term favours with the TSMC. Given the choice between say Qualcomm and Nvidia, I'm sure TSMC would rather Qualcomm than 'dirty laundry in public' Nvidia.
