Nvidia Quadro 4600 with a normal GTX 670
Hey. This may be such a stupid question, but you don't know until you ask;
I am about to purchase my new rig and i was planning to get a gtx 670, but i have managed to get myself a free (used) Quadro FX 4600. I know the Quadro will be fantastic at 3D modelling, editing and ass that (which is what i am doing at uni and why im interested in it) but im also a avid gamer and i dont want to get this card and it run the latest game at a horrible quality/fps.
Is there anyway to install both cards and just direct applications to use a certain one?
If not, what do you think is my best option? Stick with the gtx 670 or use the quadro?
Jay.

Sell the 4600 and get a 670 or 680.

Running both concurrently will be really tricky - drivers and windows just isn't setup for it, you need instruction interception and virtualised hardware such as lucid provide.
Forget gaming on the quadro, but equally forget serious modelling on the gtx670. As it's your personal machine I'd go for the gaming aspect. You should be able to get access to machines setup for modelling at uni, and they'll run it better than your personal machine anyway (and if the computing department is up to scratch, you'll might be able to use your own machine as a front end to a server/cluster/grid anyway). But then if you discover different, take the 4600 along and just swap it out when it comes to project time - stopping gaming might be a beneficial side effect ;)

Well, it's your own PC.
If you want to be able to play games, sell the Quadro 4600 and buy a GTX 670 and enjoy the leftover cash! If you want to do serious graphics modelling, keep the Quadro 4600, but bear in mind you won't be able to play much of anything.

There are hacks to make them coexist but it's a hack.
Depending on your software, it may work just well with only a GTX card.
