    AMD equivalent to rivatuner?

With my upcoming purchance (within an hour or so) of an AMD HD6870 to replace my nvidea card I'll also be replacing rivatuner, is there an AMD equivalent?

    Thanks

(I know this is sortof a software question but it concerns GPUs so I put it here anyway)

MSI afterburner is basically a skinned rivatuner and works for all new cards, regardless of manufacturer

Worth noting AB requires Admin level privileges to run.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    Re: AMD equivalent to rivatuner?

I have the MSI R6870 Hawk, and Afterburner is a fantastic tool to get the most out of this awesome card (I know it's last-gen and inferior to the 69xx series, but it's more than enough for any game on my single 1920x1200 screen). Best £130 I've spent, overclocked it gets very close to a 6950 (and beats the NVidia 560Ti). Stock settings are fine for most games, but you don't buy a Hawk to use stock settings.

Make sure you download Kombustor - it's basically Furmark, but runs from the Afterburner app. Great for stress-testing your latest "tweak", just keep an eye on temps. Don't forget to customise the fan profile too, depending on whether you want a quiet boost or full-on performance.

Stock 6870s run at 900MHz (the Hawk is factory OCed to 930MHz), and Afterburner will get you to 1000MHz - until you "unlock" it (check http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=338906 and http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=359671 - a great forum for anything Afterburner-related, as they developed the app). This also overrides the sensible voltage limits, so use with care! My Hawk can hit 1050+ @ 1.3V but gets hot, so I stick to 960/1200MHz at stock voltages (this is why it is awesome). You should be able to get the memory up from 1050MHz to ~1200MHz fairly easily, particularly if your card lets you alter Vdimm. I have read that this has greater effects than OCing the GPU (?) and also that it makes no difference at all (??) so see for yourself.

Sapphire trixx was very good when I tried it last year.
