Your daily 6800 Ultra stock update

The latest Ultras in stock appear at the end of the thread

XFX 6800 Ultra (I think this could be the 450mhz core one XFX were considering): http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk/invt/pvt40fudf7

Point of View 6800 Ultra at Tekheads.

MSI 6800 Ultra at.... OcUK. Whether it actually is in stock, really, really in stock can't be known for certain

Gainward CoolFX 6800 Ultra at Scan.

Looks like Ultras are starting to come in pretty fast now (At least one shop in stock per day).

Well I've ordered the XFX one so if it is the overclocked one then I'll let ya know. If not then its going for sale and I'll get an XT.

    Also just to note, this has probably been posted before, but cheap NU by inno3d here;

=== Dabs also had a shipment of Inno3d Ultra's arrive today, but was only enough to fill backorders.

My xfx 6800 ultra from pcworldcomp.... what's it, came in at 425.
They may have changed the description to "extreme" just to highlight it from the standard 400's, oh and the 6 games demos are pointless - you probably downloaded them all ages ago, good price tho', compared to ocuk upping prices when they get stock - they have a ultra at £422 at the mo!!!

    hi there

Just ordered from Pc Components, I have order confirmation but how long does it take for dispatch confirmation, they better still have them in stock, just spent the last month getting messed about by OCUK for an RMA on a XFX ultra, ended up with refund

If its showing in stock it is in stock, if you ordered it today and paid for next day, you'll get it next day, but anytime in the day - can be as late as 8pm, it comes via Business Post.
    You will get it Friday.

    I was most impressed.

What was wrong with the card you RMA'ed, was it DOA, or broke after a while?

XFX said that when yields improve they'll sell the 6800 Ultra at a stock speed of 450Mhz, and until then the clocks will be 400-425Mhz. Stands to reason that the ones that don't reach 450Mhz would just be sold as regular Ultras (similiar to the Hercules TNT2 Ultra). Probably just wishful thinking though :\

LOL they're like gold dust But if I find any in stock and its not posted I'll certainly post a 'Your annual X800XT stock update' I would suggest checking the PCW site often because they seem to be getting the most stock at the moment (less/no pre-orders?).

XFX came clocked to 425/1200. So thats 25/100 overclock from reference specs.

Will see if i can clock it any higher now

The extra RAM speed is what I'm most interested in since a stock speed of 1.2 means that the RAM chips must be 1.6ns. Some Ultras come with 2ns RAM (overclocked even at stock!) which is why some people can barely OC the RAM at all.

    My XFX arrived DOA

ouch. Well i'm having driver probs atm. It wnt let me overclock it by even 1Mhz. Wont let me underclock it either so its gotta be a driver issue. Set the core to 200Mhz and it said the card failed to run at those speeds etc.

    I must be missing something.

Did get me 12400ish 3d 03 marks with a 2.8 P4 on a messed up windows install. Quite impressed with that.

Sounds similiar to what happened with the Gainwards that had the incorrect BIOS, try flashing to a stock NV BIOS. Make sure you backup with nvflash first tho!

    Nice score btw

Tried a custom bios with 450/1200 stock and plus 0.1v voltage. That enabled me to change the clock frequencies eventaully after a bit of messing around. Flashed with the XFX bios from someone else's that does work and that results in the same problem. Nvidia reference bios wont flash onto the card.

I've had enough atm and I think I'll send it back for a refund and get an XT instead.

Someone else on OCUK forums said exactly the same happened to him and his started getting memory errors too after a while and he got it replaced.
