I asked on MSN, a few people said the X800 looks a bit better, and a bit crisper.

Panzer, 'such a difference'? Point out any difference please!

gotta say...except for the blue screen image on the left being missing...I'm bemused by them both too....

maybe its just saying "both are ace"

    you can only hope

Hmm,. You think Nvidia looks sharper, I ask for opinions, and get told the ATi is crisper.

I think, Panzer, me old mate, either everyones looking at different pictures, or maybe, just maybe, there isn't much, if any, difference between the two.

I can't see that Nvidia is the clearer image, nor ATi being the crisper image. Maybe I'm not looking at it in the right way, but if it didn't say, I wouldn't even know they were being shown on different cards.

They both look good and in any case ATi are re-writing their OGL drivers and by time they're released both cards will run Doom 3 excellent so technically it doesn't really matter.

The Nv looks slightly better on the floor rendering (In the lines that make up the squres).
Other than that, there is almost nothing in it, either way. I dont think the images are exactly the same anyway, so its harder to compare.
Still, i challenge anyone here to notice the difference when walking around, fragging the dead . Id be very supprised if anyone could do this consistently between the 2 cards.

Sorry but I cant see how you can try to compare images with such crappy compression. I bet theres hundreds of differnces there just blured over by jpeg...

i mean 97k per image? I have porn with better quality than that!

I don't think hard ocp would make up some crappy images for a comparison. Obviously they're trying to put the point accross of what difference there is. That's probably the same quality that's in-game from what they played it as.

I was about to say the floor looks better on the GF image, but then I noticed that the images aren't taken in exactly the same place, and thats whats causing the aliasing on the floor. Don't think theres a difference. The 'INFORMATION' text is also clearer on the NV, but that could also be because of the differing poestions/angles of the screenshots.

Not sure where PanzerKnights 'such a difference' comes in though. When I read that, I was expecting the 2 screens to be, erm... different. And very easy to tell apart.

Perhaps a slight exageration on his behalf.

Can't say I can see much difference but remember Doom III is written for nVidia hardware so ATi would be trailing in the first instance
