I'm definitely replacing my trusty but ageing Ti4600 with a 9800 pro. I've looked at a few, including this:

This seems well priced at £120 + £5.29 for delivery, but does anyone know how I can find out if it is the 256-bit or 128-bit memory interface version? (without contacting microdirect that is 'cos they'll get 128mb confused with 128-bit for sure).

Powercolour card from microdirect is defo a 256bit card. Got the box sitting next to me. :) Go get it, its well worth it.
shame the card aint in ur pc isnt it nath?
Shut up fool. The good thing about the powercolour card is that it comes with s-video to composite adapter and dvi-vga adapter. You might want to put on an Artic cooler as the stock hsf gets very hot during use. If you have good case ventilation and dont o/c it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks Shogun, I'm ordering it tomorrow. The lowestonweb 9800 pro looked good too but I'm getting 2 x sticks GeIL memory at the same time (saving on postage), which I can get from microdirect but not lowestonweb.
Is it easy to change out the cooler? Never done it before on a gfx card.
Ok this is why i don't like ATi cards as much as i should. The ATi cores have a shim around the outer part of the chip to stop the h/s crushing the core ( just like some people use on their AMD chips). Some coolers will not work unless you take the shim off. The artic cooler doesn't seem to need to do this which is always a plus :)
Its really just the case of removing the old cooler, cleaning the core to get rid of all the old gunk, then putting on some new thermal paste and screwing the new cooler on. I can find a link to a walkthrough with pictures if that would help?
Thanks for the info. It's OK, I probably won't be changing out the stock cooler, at least not for a while.
