    Catalyst 12.6 WHQL finally out

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

    Release notes:
    http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...easeNotes.aspx

They include a possible vulnerability fix, so quite important.

CERT recently approached AMD with information pertaining to what they believed to be a possible video driver vulnerability exposed by non-default settings of the Microsoft Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET). EMET is a security test tool that allows system administrators to create test conditions to validate correct behavior of system components or indicate potential weak points.

    - The AMD Catalyst 12.6 driver for the AMD Radeon HD 7000, AMD Radeon HD 6000, and AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series is designed to resolve a possible video driver vulnerability issue and to minimize the occurrence of system crashes.

Re: Catalyst 12.6 WHQL finally out

Anyone else have an issue with 12.4 where textures/polygons went missing in Skyrim? Had to roll back the drivers on my HTPC because it trashed my step-son's Skyrim fun as bits of models just went completely missing... Could do with updating the drivers but really don't want to have to do it, wait for him to complain, then roll back again

I used 12.6 beta for Skyrim and didn't see any problems, so it should hopefully be fine.

Re: Catalyst 12.6 WHQL finally out

Dunno, I just rolled back the driver as I had an annoyed 14 year old to appease Worked fine on 12.3, corrupted on 12.4, fixed when I rolled back, so I'm assuming it was a driver issue. Doubt it's a common one because not many people will be trying to play Skyrim on HD4200 I'll try 12.6 and see what happens...

The 12.6 release won't work on the 4000 series.

Re: Catalyst 12.6 WHQL finally out

Release notes say HD4200 (and HD3000) series chipsets are supported...

EDIT: In fact, the release notes say that pretty much all 4000 (/3000/2000) series cards are supported, as well as the integrated chipsets...

Re: Catalyst 12.6 WHQL finally out

Release notes are wrong. These will only work on the 5000/6000/7000 series.
