    GTX670 SLI 3D vision

Hello guys im currently in the process of building my new PC which will consist of:
    i5 3570K,
    Asus Z77 Sabertooth,
    8GB 1600MHz RAM,
    1TB HDD,
    Corsair HX750 Modular PSU
    and 2 GTX670's in SLI.

Now i am looking to get an Nvidia 3D monitor but was wondering if SLI'd cards have a Problem running 3D or any problems at all. I am undecided on which 670's to get too, i have been looking at the KFA2 GTX670 / ASUS GTX 670 CUII / Gigabyte 670 Windforce.

Does the 3D pick up the cards in SLI or does it only run of a Single card? i have never SLI'd in my life so its a question of which i do not know the answer.

    Hiya,

Let me see if I can help, I have a pair of EVGA 670 FTW cards in SLI with a Asus 3D monitor.

Setting up sli is easy, once everything is installed there is an option under the nvidia control panel to turn on the SLI the screen will flicker and thats it done

As for 3D, the performance boost from SLI is apparent in all aspects of GPU usage, including 3D performance.

One thing to bear in mind is that when you turn 3D on in a game you will literally half your frame rate, so bear this in mind with AA settings. Other settings with a pair of 670's wont matter due to the underlying power of the cards, however stacking AA at max may give you issues, I generally limit myself to 4x AA if I am using 3d.

As for montiors I mentioned this in another thread but for the love of god do not buy a monitor that doesnt have lightboost. I brought one that didnt have lightboost and truth be told I very rarely used 3D as it was dark and awkward due to the shutter glasses and the natural dimming of the screen in 3D mode. Note this wasnt just my montior but a sacrafice that had to be made to get 3D with the 1st Gen of 3D panels.

Now I have a lightboost monitor and oh my world what a difference, its much lighter so you dont have to squint in darker games like Metro 2033, the new glasses are lighter, have longer battery life and the lenses are alot larger and contribute to a lighter image during 3d mode.

    Hope this helps

    Pman
