    3D on AMD?

    Hi all,

Has anyone here tried a passive 3D monitor on AMD graphics?

Was considering updating my daughter's old 17" 1280x1024 monitor (because it only does VGA input, and the motherboard I got for her 3870 APU only does digital outputs, doh!).
Looking at cheap 1080 monitors, I noticed it isn't a lot more money to get a cheap 3D panel. Like this one:

Now probably a bit of a gimmick, may never actually get used in 3D, but who knows what the future might bring. Anyway, I like toys, justification enough

Thing is, I only ever hear of people running expensive active 3D setups on Nvidia hardware. What is 3D support like on AMD?

    Re: 3D on AMD?

I have the 3870 and have recently bought a passive monitor from scan for only £145.I was really surprised,it was well worth getting.it uses tridef software that makes it possible to play a lot of 2D games in 3D.i am now going to upgrade to dual mode by buying a RADEON 6670 graphics card to further boost my 3D range. The monitor is the AOC e2352phz 23inch with glasses and cables.i would recomend this for the price
