I would go with a 7850 due to lower power consumption, better performance and a better overclocker.

You can get close to double the performance of your existing card by getting an identical card and going crossfire.

Only if the OPs motherboard supports Crossfire already, though

Any particular reason you're determined to stick with ATI/AMD? The nvidia GTX 560 Ti is a decent step up from the 6850 and is around £150 now if you shop around...

HD6950 2GB can be had for around the same price:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-x...hdmi-2x-mini-d

The GTX560TI 448 can be had for a similar price too:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1280m...z-448-cores-2x

However, there is noise of HD7850 and HD7870 price cuts in the next few weeks,so I would wait TBH!

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Seconded. I really want to see how more competitive pricing like we had with the 5000 series vs the 400 series.

Agreed I kinda think the 660 around £200 and 7950 around £240 (which we have seen in daily offers and probably will with 660) is the 'right price' But I suspect AMD and Nvidia are filling their coffers for R&D for mobile GPU's.

Re: Best ATI Gaming Card for price

I am massivley torn at the moment. I have about £280 in the kitty for a new "budget card". I use the word budget loosely because I could get myself something which won't die on its arse in the next year.

I have waited for the 660ti, not impressed with the pricing as £280 was the upper limit, but now the AMD cards have taken a nosedive in price and I'm tempted.

Have a look on Overclockers UK, they have a few 7850's on offer this week.

Prices starting at £155 for a 7850, tempting me to get another one.
