i was given free overclocking software with my new card and i was wondering if it is worth using it?

Depends whether you want to overclock the card, which you might if you intend to play forthcoming games like Doom3 or HL2 for example, in order to boost your frame rates.

its called redline.
ive just ran into a problem when i start to play a game the pc just restarts and its only started happening when i got this new card. is it something to do with the settings or drivers?

I had this problem with a 9000 matey.. check how much juice your PSU is putting out... maybe time for an upgrade in that area? I now mine just got too stressed to give the gfx card enough power and threw the crowbars... I'm running 2 HDDs and 2 optical drives, plus numerous fans and the main board, memory etc... all the problems stopped when I got a new PSU..
