3DMark 2003 Having None Of It.

    Arse. I am not amused.

    Right lads, I can't run 3DMark 2003 on my rig, X800XT-PE included.

Everything is 100% stable, in Windows, during gaming, all the time. I have the latest drivers for everything, latest DirectX, etc, etc.

I've tried the latest Cats and Omegas, and I get the same problem: There's no problem running the actuall game tests, my card eats them up, the first test, Wings of Fury, peaks at a rather silly reported FPS of 1442.

The problem is switching from the first test to the second; as its about to switch, and the screen goes blank, it exits to the desktop.

As I said, temps are fine, system is 100% stable, all latest drivers.

I've disabled the first test, and started with the second, and again, it exits to the desktop when the test is finished and it goes blank to load the third.

Even started at the first CPU test; same again, runs the test fine, exits to desktop when changing between the first and second test.

2 hours of Doom III - not a flicker.

Whats going on? Getting on my tits a bit now.

Monitor has correct and latest driver as well, by the way.

Bloody thing, I want to post some benchmarks, everyone's moaning at me, and I can't get the twating prog to run.

Any ideas, because I've lost patience with it?

The only two things I can think of is reinstalling 3dmark, and possibly just easing off on your RAM timings, even with no instability elsewhere.

RAM timings are at stock, re-downloading 3D Mark as we speak.

I'm off for a bacon sarny and a cup of coffee whilst it downloads.

Uninstall then Install 3Dmark03 first. Make sure it's the latest build too perhaps.

Ahh sorry, must've written this the same time as your post.

All is well! Rather than downloading 3DMark 2003 again, once the problems started, I spent 2 hours reinstalling drivers and the like. Of course, it was 3DMark, and re-downling it sorted everything out. Typicsl.

Anyway, I got 12,229 3D Marks with everything at stock. I plan to OC the X800XT-PE, 3500+ and see what I can do with the RAM timings of course, but thats the stock score, with everything (Cool 'n Quiet, Overdrive, etc) turned off.

The sarny was nice, by the way. Crispy bacon and tons of red sauce. Quality.

Indeed. In future, if a prog is faulty, reinstal that prog itself first, not everything else on the system it might be.

Now, 3DMark 2001... I'll go and download it.

Yes, but you're harder than me, Richdog.

Your CPUs faster. And your RAM. Was the card at stock or the whole system? You are OCing the CPU, yes?

I'll start a thread, like you said, for us X800XT-PE owners to post benchies and stuff.
