New graphics card DOA! And company still aint gotten back to me.

I recieved my Galaxy GF 6800 128MB card on wednesday along with my iiyama ProLite E431S-B. (If anyone is needing a new monitor i can recommend getting this 1, don't come with Dvi lead but analogue seems to do me fine till i get a cable)

Anyway installed my graphics card and when i booted up i couldnt read the dos or bios writing as it was all in shapes and when it was booting up there was lots of little shapes (like in the matrix when they read it :-P)

I e-mailed them straight away and everyday including today and still no answer.

I want to know has anyone had problems like this with a company before? The company i bought my graphics card from is Microdirect.

Last time i use them gits!

    Have you called them?

Its not very fair to publically braodcast this without giving them a fair opportunity, calling any company is far more reliable than email, thats not an excuse, but you know when you get someone on the phone then you have more chance of success.

Not called them yet. I really dont see why i should since their e-mail "service" is there.

I will call them tomorrow but 4 days? There is no excuse for that.

2 weeks ago i e-mailed them and several companys about buying a new monitor and asking if they could do a dead pixel check, guess what the only company not to reply was? Corect microdirect. Their customer service is appaling.

    Cheers

I've had nothing but trouble from MicroDirect and have since never used them, 3 of the 11 items I bought from them were incorrect. Try conacting Galaxy about it the problem.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

If you do call them, and you get "Brendon" hang up and never dial back. Had nothing but trouble from Mircodirect, They never did reply to their e-mails so it turns out only way to get to them is ring them.
I bought a Shuttle RefleXion from them and it was DOA, and they wouldn't answer fax or e-mail, and customer support was rubbish. :/

overclock.co.uk I think has the best customer service, but they arn't the cheapest. The 3 worst are probably the ones silentdeath mentioned, MicroDirect, OcUK and eBuyer.

Just bought a new PC from Microdirect ... still waiting on the X800XT, but that's hardly their fault. Had nothing but good customer service from the guy I spoke to (Andrew Horkan) who was helpful on the phone and replied to mails promptly as well. Apparently they do get well over a thousand emails a day to sales@microdirect.co.uk though, so it's probably well worth establishing initial contact by phone if you can.
