To be fair, the GTX480 is probably of similar if not slightly better performance (iirc the GTX570 and GTX480 were roughly equivalent, and the GTX570 competes reasonably with the 7850). OTOH, it draws about twice as much power and runs much hotter, so there's no way I'd recommend it over a 7850 when the price difference is only £10. Find some way to afford the extra £6 and buy the 7850![]()

Bare in mind that if you search for bargins you can often get your GPU for a fair bit less than the listed price on these review-type websites.

I agree with Scaryjim the cards i did mention seem to be a little poor but you did ask for a GFX card under or upto £125 as per spec.....
i think you would be better off saving your cash save up abit more then go for a 7870 or 670GTX thats what i would do ......
Actually thats what i am going too do wait until the price comes down on the 7870 then sell my HD6850 and play BF3 like there is no tommorrow lol
anyway good luck in your hunt hope all we have stated helps you in anyway possible![]()
Radeon 6870 is your best bet
it looks like the 2Gb 7850 is not much more - is it much better? and I wonder how soon the 7870 will be @ about £150 if I raid the bairn's piggy bank or SWMBO's stocking top
In most games you won't notice a blind bit of difference, stick to 1080p and you should be fine.

Chances are if you are running out of memory then the 7850 is also running out of shader resources at the same time.
I really don't see the 7870 dropping to £150 any time soon, they have just had two rounds of price cuts in short order, a third round would be an act of desperation and wouldn't bring prices down to that level anyway.
£125 is the max budget incase you haven't seen
But in reply to your comment the 6870 is still a great card and can handle most games on high settings![]()
Talking of value you can pick up a used 6870 for around £80, which is nearly half the price of a 7850 so it's clear which one is the winner for best "value" here
Well in that case there's a 7850 on ebay for £92, but you can pick one up for ~£125 using the normal channels.
Yeah if the 7850 can be had for £125 then that would make it the best buy in the price range, without a question![]()
