Graphics Card Compatibility
Following on from an earlier thread: help - i need new graphics card
I am not sure my motherboard can cope & would support the GTX 660's Bus requirement: "PCIe 3.0 x16" as it is a few years old.
Is there an easy way to find out what my hardware can support (and possibly more importantly determine what MB I actually have).
Re: Graphics Card Compatibility
The 660 doesn't require PCIe 3.0, it is perfectly compatible with PCIe 1.0 and 2.0, as the slots are forwards and backwards compatible.
Re: Graphics Card Compatibility
Open the case and get the mobo model number?

Without taking everything out, it is not clear what the model number is (or even which brand, I have a feeling it is Asus (was a custom build) and about 4 years old... Boasting the 'state of the art' (lol) Core 2 Quad 2.4 Ghz processor!
Oh... 'dxdiag' had the answer for me, under "system model":

:)
Thanks for your help.
