    Sapphire HD 7850 2GB - multiple versions?

I have my eye set on a sapphire hd 7850 2gb graphics card, one problem is there seem to be 3 or 4 versions of this card and im unsure on which is best and what the main differences are.

    1) 11200-07-21G £138
    2) 11200-14-20G £146
    3) 11200-07-20G £160

Now i believe they all have the same outputs. 1 hdmi, 1 dual link dvi, 2 x mini display port?
Im guessing the key or only difference is the clock speed but i cant work out which is which unlrss i go off price. The sapphire website allows comparison but it doesnt list the model numbers so theres no way to tell which is which. im quite happy to go with the cheapest but id still like to know what the differences are.

Is there a 4th card also.

Re: Sapphire HD 7850 2GB - multiple versions?

11200-14-20G is the overclock edition. Its the one I would go as I have the none oc version 11200-07-21G and for the life of trying It won't oc on the memory and hardly anything on the core. Did check out a review who had the exact same problem. The difference between 07-21g and the 07-20g is one is the newer model. one has 1 dvi out and the other has 2 and a different style cooler. But for £185 you can get the 7870 sapphire card on amazon or the msi 7870 ghz ed From scan for £179 once they get stock in. Pic's of the 2 7850 below showing the difference.

Re: Sapphire HD 7850 2GB - multiple versions?

What's the clock difference in standard and oc?

As for the ones with different outputs, what are the pros and cons of having dual dvi ports versus dual mini display ports?

I've looked at the newer models like the 7870 but i think the 7850 is the right price range for myself. Not that i'm restricted to a budget but you have to draw a line somewhere.

msi 7970 ghz ed From scan for £179
Is that correct? That seems ridiculously cheap for a 7970. I'd probably snap that up.

Re: Sapphire HD 7850 2GB - multiple versions?

Unfortunately 7970s are in the 300s

I have the 11200-14-20G, it's the OC model, clocked at 920 + 5000, but as most can immediately scale to 1050 in amd overdrive/trixx/afterburner etc it's a good question whether there is much difference between the oc and non-oc versions (nobody seems to know whether they bin them)

It's a great card though, where are you seeing it for 146?

Re: Sapphire HD 7850 2GB - multiple versions?

7870 is not a newer card, just a better card. having more shaders and core over 1ghz. Its also custom pc's best buy mid gpu. The oc version of 7850 is 920 mhz vs 860 and memory bumped to 1250 vs 1200. Sorry it ment to say 7870 not 7970 msi card (got the 7900 series on my mind right now). Where did you see a sapphire 7850 card for £138? does, that include vat/ del etc.

Re: Sapphire HD 7850 2GB - multiple versions?

Initially I had looke at the google reviews am it looked 50/50 wae is also listed on cashback sites with 8% so I was really tempted but after a proper research it's definately a no go. Most people say they never receive goods and takes them ages to get money back.

Anyway I think I'm settled for the oc version of 7850 if I can find it at the right place and reputable retailer

same as the above photo's just oc'd. 1 has 2 dvi's and the other has one and 2 different coolers as above. 01-20g has the 2 dvi.

Re: Sapphire HD 7850 2GB - multiple versions?

Can any 7850 be put into crossfire or do the models have to be exact? E.G 11200-07-21G and 11200-14-20G would work or only 11200-07-21G and 11200-07-21G

Any old 7850, doesn't even need to be the same brand. You could even crossfire it with a 7870 as it happens.
