Alt / tab gpu question.

This is just to put my mind at rest. When you alt tab out of a game to desktop, do you have a blank screen for say 2-3 seconds before it goes to desktop, also same goes for when I alt enter back to a game. Its just I don't remember having the "lets say delay" when switching between game and desktop with my old 6850. I could have had the delay but having had the 7850 for so long I am questioning myself if this happened.

Depends on a lot of things - if a lot of memory is in use there can be a swap delay and some game engines cause more of a pause than others. Usually I see more a delay going back into a game than out (with 8GB)

As per dangel's comments really. Unless you've maxed out the RAM I don't tend to see a delay going back to desktop, but going back into game can take a second or two.

Yep, few seconds here and there switching back.

Thanks all for your input. I only use about 40% of system ram while gaming and 800mb of gpu ram out of 2gb. Its put my mind at ease as im not 100% sure if this card fully working.
