Looking for GPU with 4 x DP or Mini DP ports...
Hey guys, looking for a GPU here with 4 DP or Mini DP ports. It can even have DVI/VGA ports.
Basically I need to connect 4 independent VGA devices without any splitters etc.
I have found Nvidia Quadro NVS450 but that cost arm and a leg to buy...
Any other ideas?
I don't really care about performance its purely about connectivity.
Thanks!
Adrian

The AMD eyefinity cards should work but would need active adapters for the 3rd and 4th monitors (if the screens you have don't support DP)

Yeah, shaithis is right here. You want AMD Eyefinity. http://www.amd.com/us/products/techn...eyefinity.aspx

Sapphire HD7950 Dual-X FleX Edition will connect upto 6 screens

I've been looking at the MSI R7970 Lightning for a while, mainly for it's connectivity - it has 4 mini-DP and 1 DVI. It is just less than £400, however - not that much cheaper than the nVidia card you posted.

Someone needs to make more cards like this: http://www.visiontek.com/quad/hd-4670x2.html ;)
Do you need 4 VGA, or just 4 outputs of any kind?
Re: Looking for GPU with 4 x DP or Mini DP ports...
It all seems terribly complicated depending on what connectors you are using.
You certainly don't need to go as high as the 7950 flex, there is also a 7870 flex.

http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphi...x-ghz-edition/
"AMD's default design carries only two clock generators, allowing the user to use HDMI and DVI simultaneously, but requiring a third monitor (or more) to be connected via DisplayPort, which bypasses the need for a clock generator. Getting around this limitation, Sapphire's Flex makeover adds a third clock generator and the associated circuitry to loosen its reliance on DisplayPort and allow three DVI connections at any one time."
If you need 4 clock generators this still doesn't sound like it will cut it.
But if you are using display port any old AMD card should do.
A GTX 660 also supports 4 displays.

I think something as simple as this should work:
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-a...dual-link-dvi-
"Support 4 HD displays with Nvidia Surround® technology or to connect a 3D-enabled TV for a true cinematic Blu-ray 3D experience."
1 x D-Sub
2 x Dual Link DVI-D
1 x HDMI
Re: Looking for GPU with 4 x DP or Mini DP ports...
Both the DVIs on that card are DVI-D, so can't be converted to VGA with simple adapters. Same with Terbinator's find: all 4 DVIs are DVI-D. And most AMD cards that have 2 DVIs only have one DVI-I. DVI-D to VGA converters are available, but they're active, powered adapters and they're not cheap - the lowest price I can find is ~ £30 and not from any etailer I'd trust ;)
I think you've only really got 2 options: a proper AMD eyefinity card with 4 mini-DP to VGA converters, or 2 graphics cards, if you've got the slots for them. PCIe x1 cards are available, so option 2 is probably more realistic than you might think.
EDIT: if performance really isn't a concern (and you can find the appropriate drivers!) there are quad-head cards on ebay for ~ £50: e.g. Matrox G450 and NVidia Quadro NVS440 - might be worth a punt...
2nd EDIT: what's your budget? There are 4 mini-DP firepro cards on the market; again, they're not cheap, but they should be *very* reliable and pro-card support tends to be excellent if it's for anything even vaguely mission-critical...
