    Hi all,

I'm a bit out of touch with this component malarky and have just been looking at graphics cards that I would be able to upgrade to. In all of your experienced knowledge , which graphics card offers the best pounds for mpg?

    thanks ,
    Mark.

It depends on how much you want to spend really, for around the £120 mark the 9800pro is still about the best, but if you can make 2-300 then you're looking at 6800/X800 territory..

9800pro no question at all. if you can afford more then you can look to 6800 or 6800gt which tend to slightly outperform the x800 cards. the main prob with 6800 and x800 cards is that even the fastest cpus are still holding them back, so unless youre pairing one with athlon64 or fast p4 definitely get 9800rpo instead.

best bet would be to buy 9800pro now then in about 1 year sell it on (it wont have devalued much) and then buy 6800/x800 which should be close to half the current price. the current fastest cpus should be pretty cheap by then too so you can really appreciate these video cards.
