A decent gaming card - nVidia 240GT?
I haven't gamed on a PC in years. The last game I played was probably Battlefield 2... But I'm having a look around Steam and I'm noticing a few games I wouldn't mind trying out specifically Dawn of War II and a few shoot 'em ups. I also see that in most cases the recommended spec is well below what I currently have (Core i3 3.06ghz, 8Gb memory, nVidia 240GT graphics card) which isn't surprising considering the age or style of games I'm looking at. Certainly I've just finished trying out Crysis (original 2006 edition) with all settings on High and Very High and it works great.
How does my 240GT rate as a decent graphics card given that I won't be playing games at higher than a 1920x1080 resolution and Crysis 3 is not on my playlist...

It's not a decent gaming card , but if you don't mind dropping details down or playing the less demanding games out there then it's fine.

What sort of games require the details to be dropped to lower levels?
Re: A decent gaming card - nVidia 240GT?
Well according to the benchmarks, things like Skyrim, Crysis (which you found with dropping to high etc.), BF3, The Witcher 2, any other graphically intensive games. But there's a bunch of less demanding games that are great that you could enjoy without having to drop settings.

Sounds good to me especially as none of those games you mention interest me in the slightest! I reckon I'll stick with what I have until I find the most awesomest game ever that demands I upgrade! Thanks.
