Cant tell you what one is better as I havent had the LG but I would def recommend the NEC.

    SHarp colours
    No ghosting
    Excellent contrast
Brightness/Contrast goes way to bright.... This is good as long as you can turn it down which you can so you have plenty of headway each side.
Dual input - if you have 2 systems then run the main game rig on the DVI and the oter one e.g. server, smoothwall etc on the VGA. The display can be flicked with a button on the front of the screen.

    Go the LG route.

Have been reading on other forums that people love them and they have only slight ghosting. Another suggestion to add to your list though (if you want to) are the Hitachi TFT units. 16ms refresh and hardly any ghosting what so ever.

However if you can only decide between the two, then go for the NEC
Signature in development ... please be patient

    I have a Hitachi 174 in Black.
Love it, play CS regularly with it and have no visible ghosting etc.

I'm still tempted to buy another one and have a pair on the desk.

Is it worth the extra ( no idea how much extra) to eliminate ALL ghosting with the NEC ??

AFAIK, the NEC and Hitachi use the same displays in their 16ms 17" monitors.....

yes... its not that much extra esp. when your spending over £300... might as well get the most for you money

    whats £360 instead of £340?

£40 over £20 is a much bigger difference of course.

yes, 20 is half as much as forty, and the difference between 340 and 360 is also the same, therfore half as much. if it were 10 and 30 then you would be making a large saving because comparatively it would be the same as much more just in a less kind of way... agreed

LG here and i love it, never used the NEC though. Although you dont get the DVI cable with the NEC which is like an extra 15-20quid. Unless they now do give it to u with it like they do with the LG.
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!
