How to play PC video on TV

How do you play video on a TV from your PC's GPU's S-Video or Composite connection? Videos opened in QuickTime play on my TV, but no other player i've tried plays video, it is just blank. I've tried MPC, WMP and WinAmp. What players are there that I can use so I can watch my video files, full screen, on my TV through a Composite connection? I'm tired of encoding them and burning them to CD/DVD.

I use the S-Video, and NVidia;s NView. When connected and the TV is on i can select 2 screens (Analogue and TV) and then choose clone. Then whatever is on my monitor is also on my TV, be it Firefox, winamp playing music, video, etc. Fullscreen the video and there you go

PS...unless you run a stupidly low resolution you will need to lower your resolution. But thats the way i do it anyhow.

Cheers for that, but yes I use the clone method and I get the image on the TV, but when I open Windows Media Player to play a video, I see it fine on my monitor, but the region where the video is is completely blank on my TV, except when I play a video file in QuickTime, and it displays no problems in that, and in PowerDVD. What I'm looking for is some software that will play .AVI's and .WMV's that will display the video on my TV. (Quicktime only does .mpeg's and .mov's and PowerDVD does .VOB's and DVD's).

What do you use to play .WMV and .AVI so you can see the image on your TV?

try finding the "overlay mode" option and switching it on/off (can't remember which) in whatever you're using and it should show on your tv-out. I've used winamp and various other things and had to fiddle that.

look for the properties tab called Full Screen Video in the nVidia properties
make sure Secondary Display is selected.

Then any time you play video on anything, it'll be full screen on the TV, even if its windowed on your PC desktop

I figured it out, I have an ATI card anyway. I had to select TV as primary display so the video appeared on my TV and not on my monitor.

Cheers though
