    Help Choosing Upgrade!

Hi Guys i could really use a little assistance...

I am upgrading my GPU at the end of the month and i have a price range of £240 ($380)..
I will be getting my card from Overclockers in the UK as i am going to take a look around their new store.

Anyways the reason i could use assistance is due to my system is currently all AMD, and i have narrowed the card selections to 3 different choices, one of them being Nvidia. I remember when i was younger that i got told the AMD will run better with an ATI card (Being same company) but im not sure how true this is.

    The choices are these:

Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB
    overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-098-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=

Asus HD 7950 DirectCU II TOP V2 3072MB
    overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-275-AS&tool=3

MSI GeForce GTX 660Ti Power Edition 2048MB
    overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-172-MS

I would preferably like to keep my system all AMD but if i would get more power and performance out of the Geforce then i would be willing... Also if you have any better cards in mind please suggest some thankyou.

    Re: Help Choosing Upgrade!

Go for the gigabyte one they are good on the warranty side of things

also what make and model is your PSU plus the wattage and amps on the +12v rail this is important

    hope this helps

What do you intend to do with your 6850

Can't tell who made his PSU (OEM manufacturer).

Tried to google some information out, but couldn't find anything. But this OcUK 650W Dual Rail High Efficiency Modular Power Supply. Should be the pretty same result as for a 550W unit.

I would look at getting a more reliable PSU that has 2x PCI-E power connectors something along the lines of OCZ, Seasonic or Be quiet

    http://www.ebuyer.com/387569-be-quie...ower-psu-bn107

    http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=45458

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-...ghpower-xt-psu

Any of the PSU listed are better than the Powercool one you have....

Read up about them here http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page541.htm

as you can see Powercool is not listed on this website due to it being a cheap chinese copy PSU some supplier has put his trade mark on....

    Hope this helps
