Well at the mo am stuck on what tft i want so am gunna ask does dvi matter that much ?
I have three choices
The AG Neovo F-419 19" 25ms pannel with DVI and Anolog
The Sharp LL-172GB 17" 16ms pannel with DVI and Anolog
The Sharp LL-191AB 19" 16ms pannel with Anolog only.
Now the sharp 19" is the same price as the F-419, while the LL-172GB is 40 quid cheaper.
So does going to 19" and not having dvi make a difference ?

Short answer is that subjectively I've found it to, certainly where running a TFT in its native resolution. My last graphics card was a G550 Dual-DVI and at one point I had to run one of my two TFTs (this is at work) via anaogue cable, and there was a palpable difference in clarity. That said, TFTs have improved a lot, and if what you're interested in doing mostly is gaming, I'd say an analogue only panel with a fast response time is preferable to a DVI panel with a slow one.
In short, yes. Dont spend that kind of money and not get DVI.
You know, the difference in price between the analogue only and DVI LL191s is only about £40. For that money, I'd do what MAS says - get the DVI one.
there is no dvi version of the 191 they only do it in anolog version.
the f-419 has both.

aye and cost's bout 80 quid more !
Looking more like am going for the 17" tft the 19" are just lacking.

Id say DVI all the time unless you have a specific reason as to not have it. Bare in mind that some manufacturers dont supply a DVI cable. Which means you will need to buy one seperatly. I dont know the price of them since i havent needed one before but I have heard they can be quite expensive.

Not sure if my input is a bit too late, but I have to say that I honestly can't tell the difference between analog and DVI on my monitor (other than when changing resolutions using a DVI cable will mean that you'll never have to adjust the dimensions and clock rates of your display, as you would with analog - very handy for games).
I'm not sure how much of it is down to the quality of your monitor/cables/gfx card, but I had to swap from DVI to analog for a while when a friend borrowed my cable, and I couldn't tell. I'd say I'm quite fussy about these things too.
Sorry, just thought I'd better add that my monitor is an LG L1710B - just in case you want to check it out as an alternative.
this is the thing thats got me it's a 50/50 split over what to do.
Well, I mean there's no doubt that DVI is better quality in everyway, but it's down to the perceivable difference in the end........how good is your eyesight? ;)
I'd go for DVI if it was me, if only to ensure it's usable in the distant future when analog is totally phased out, but I'm a bit paranoid like that. Plus, not having to constantly adjust when I change res for games is brilliant. I used to hate have to hit the auto-adjust button everytime I swapped in and out of my desktop!
It's a digital signal myth, it'll make precisely no difference at all. Either the data gets to the monitor or it doesn't.Quote:

Yea, if it was an analogue signal then it could make alot of difference. Since the voltage that would go through the cable/connectors would change which would change the data. With digital its either on or off (1 or 0)
Does DVI really matter? Depends what GFX card you have. Plug a TFT into a Matrox Millenium 2 / G400 via analogue and you will experience 2d graphics that best that there have ever been. Plug in via DVI on your Nvidia card, and you won't. I would say swings and roundabouts. ATI and Nvidia still hvae below par image quality compared to the best (matrox) whether your using DVI or analogue.

my 2D looks fine.. I cant imagine it being any better! :p How can 2D get better then this? Are the lines sharper?
