ATI 9800 & Playstation 2

Does anyone know if you can connect a S video from the playstation 2 to a PC (ATI graphics card 9800)?

If you have a VIVO card you should be able to, I havent got round to trying one of my consoles yet. Cant see the point really, rather play on my 28" TV.

connected via svideo it ought to be "okay" - not as good as a tv, but better than composite or rf.

the best option for connecting a console to a monitor is the micomsoft xrgb2+, which willl set you back a hundred quid but WILL give better-than-tv output

Consoles on monitors are a bad idea - all that happens is you get a clearer view of how poor the gfx are, haha! (especially with PS2!)

that's mostly because the ps2 is an extremely weak piece of hardware.

the dreamcast officially supported VGA in almost all games, and for a six year console doesn't look half bad (where a 6-year-old pc would be a p2-350, and it blitzes that).

problems with console display on monitors is more usually related to poor input, such as using a tv card or video card vivo, rather than a device such as the micomsoft xrgb2+

Oooh... That's tempting - especially as I have to 'fight' the missus for TV time to play on my PS2 / Cube... And it would make connecting them both up to the net rather easier too (in fact it's probably cheaper than 2 decent wireless bridges). Mind you as I work from home I'd probably never ever get any work done ever again.
