I have a cornerstone p1500 21" crt, which was one of the cheap ones for £60(? or something).

Wanted to buy one resonably soon, if I can find one I like.

The EU is fecking stupid. How many TVs have DVI input? Maybe with HDTV, I dont know. Seems pathertic that they can do such things - not as if they need another tax there!

Thanks for the responce to the thread, I will reread and compare them in the morning im too tired atm

Who do the best colour accurate (tonal accurate) TFTs?
I know EIZO make a big deal of their 10-bit gamma processing, who else are good?

i'm in the same situation as you SD, have a p1500 thats on its way out and need a new monitor to replace it

the dell ones really tempting, but the fact the TH says it ghosts does kinda put me off ;/ Could really do with finding an owner to record a video of it running ut2004 or some other kind of fast paced shooter really

alternativly i could just get 2x17" ones..

To go a bit off topic, what will 14ms play like on CS:Source and HL2? Will I get any ghosting? It's only a 17" but it's only £200 so it looks like a bargain. Btw this is the monitor incase anyone knows anything about it...

You shouldnt notice any ghosting on a 14ms panel.

That is assuming that the manufacturer's measurements are accurate. There's no univeral standard on these things. I've never heard of DiFusion. Should be alright though.

There is a whole thing about ghosting and thg have a good test for it, basically it about black (no subpixels) to white (all subpixels) and back again, but thg discovered that doesn't actually measure ghosting very well and that grey to white to grey gives more accurate test results, personally i would like thg and respect their opinion but as with most things you gotta look around and make your own mind up.

In its defence I have read alot of thing about the dell screen being the dogs danglies.

Iv owned TFTs all the way from the 50ms days up to the now 16ms and less.
And I can honestly say you will not notice ghosting at 16ms unless you actually sit there and star closely, looking specifically for any hint of it. And even then its bloody hard.
Also note that the response thing is a little subjective as it depend on the type of color's they are using to calculate that. This is why two same sized TFTs quoted at say 25ms, and one can appear to ghost a lot more than the other.
Also depends on the balance you want between image quality and movement etc. For example the Samsung 193P is a solid build and superb image quality, but can exhibit slight ghosting due to its 20ms (although I hear this is very minial). In contrast the 2100fp is not good in image quality but is great for inputs and the 16ms response and size/price ratio.
Just gotta way up wots most important to you, I guess.

Yea, my CRT was a bit shaper, but as long as I dont notice any ghosting I'm all right!
