    GTX 470 MSI frozr twin ii

    I bought a second hand MSI GTX 470 but it had a waterblock on it instead of the cooler. I've taken the cooler off, cleaned off the card and cooler, went down Kilburn high road and bought some thermal paste, and found that I don't have the screws to put the cooler that came with the card back on.

    Question A. Does anyone know what kind of screws I would need? (looks about M2)

    Question B. The cooler is the MSI twin frozr ii, from a quick googling looking for screws, I've found a lot of negative feedback. Should I use this cooler? Or buy an alternative cooler?

    Question B (part 2). Any recommendations for a GPU cooler for the GTX 470, looking for a silent solution and not too fussed about overclocking.

    Cheers,

    Lee

    Sorry I don't know much about the MSI Twin Frozr screws, but from what I have seen it really depends when it comes to noise and performance. Some people get loud and hot ones, they get RMA'd and they get quiet and cool replacements.

    If you do go down the route of alternative coolers, the only ones I know are the Arctic Cooling Acceleros, I tried to find some on Google, but no one seems to keep any stock. Here is a link for reference;

    Thanks for that. I've also found the following which seem to be compatable;

    http://www.quietpc.com/gel-icy-vision

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zalman-VF300...Zalman+VF3000F

    Considering I only paid £50 for the card, I'd rather not pay another £30 for a cooler!
