GTX670 and GTX680 price cuts incoming??

I just noticed this on OcUK:

    http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=18516135

They have reduced the price of the GTX670 and GTX680 and mentioned that is due to Nvidia.

It's raining used 670s, 680s and 7970s on the MM if you're in the market.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Well that's still a lot less than £330 so I wouldn't be that gutted.

Strangely its the HD7970's that I'm seeing fall in price. £286 inc del for a Sapphire if that includes the basic never settle offer the card would cost around £250

Re: GTX670 and GTX680 price cuts incoming??

My gpu only went down £10 and I've had it for a few months so I'm not overly gutted. Although for £10 more I could've got a 680
Edit : but it seems like the 7950 and 7970 have closed the gap... Probably shoulder saved that £100 :'(

Re: GTX670 and GTX680 price cuts incoming??

The only thing putting me off purchasing a secondhand bargain 670/680 is most only have 2gb VRAM and I tend to hang on to my video cards for a couple of years. I reckon more and more games will start pushing the limit in the coming months/years.

If it helps, Dirt 2 uses the most vram out of all my games, and only uses 1.2GB ^_^

Definitely, with consoles having 6gb. I have a 690 which only has 2GB and with Max payne 3 with everything on max I run out of ram and have to turn settings down so its definitely a bottleneck which will be a prob in future

PS4 and Xbox One have 8GB 'VRAM' (there is no difference between VRAM and system RAM), but estimates are around 2GB minimum reserved for other uses so saying 6GB available for the GPU is certainly a possibility.

Oh right... Sorry but why is there no difference between ram/vram?
