You can get a 6850 for around £50 used on eBay .....you also should be able to get a 5830 for around £40 there too (I sold mine to a mate for £30 ) so you should have enough for a slightly better CPU and a better graphics card
ok will see what i get there
What are you trying to achieve? What games are you trying to play?
From what i've read on an OC'd C2D/Q anything above a 560ti offers diminishing returns.
But on a P4 i'm sure that today's games will find issues with the CPU before even worrying about a GPU bottleneck.
I think you really need to consider your computer obsolete for gaming (depending upon what your are trying to do)
i want to play gta 5 when it comes out
so what you suggest
i also want to play cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out
I'd say that at a minimum your looking at a GPU better than a 560, and a CPU that has at least 2 cores and a clock over 3GHz with at least 4Gb RAM an x64 Win7 or 8
That should give playable if not stellar visuals.
ok will get a c2d e6600 will it be ok
at stock speed no, but to be fair I think with the old architecture only a quad core would be safe.
i.e. q6600 OC'ed to 3.0Ghz+, then you need to know what your PCI-e version is. If its 1.1 then imo you are maxed out with a 560Ti short of a SSD.
pcie version is 2.0
my p4 is oced to 4.14ghz on stock
ok i bought a gtx 560
Well that should be more than you need until you can upgrade that terrible cpu
