    Sims 2

Well, I have to say im actually enjoying this!

Its MUCH more in depth than the last, AND its funner! The sims do more stupid things...

My favourite thing, I have this guy who I told to poke this other guy a few times, now when ever he sees him he runs over and pokes him, and the other dude crys! Its soo funny to watch!

AND the graphics chug my system ALOT.. I had to turn some details off at 1024*786!!

Anyone else tried it? and do you enjoy it?

EDIT: just realised wrong forum can someone move it for me

Enjoyed it for a few hours, but then it gets like all the Sims games - very boring, very quickly; somehow you feel very detached from what's going on, and feel you are just there to click through the motions. Even the nude patch didn't cheer me up. :-)

Still, my sisters girls (14 and 16) love it.

Agree with the above. It's fun for a while but the novelty wears off, just like the original.

i loved i for the cool lesbian/gay households I took the time to get a stable heterosexual couple, with good jobs etc but then got bored and made each sim have a gay relationship [the wife got off with her (female) friend and the husband got off with his best (male) friend

still only kept be entertained for a week or so tho ;/

I know someone wanting to get this game but she only has a P2 450Mhz and some old 8 or 16MB Graphics card

I take it that the game's not going to work on it?

Ive only played SIms 2 recently (having a lot of time on my hands) and I was hooked for the first 48 hours - now I really dont want to start it up coz it's quite addictive - insanely rubbish and pointless, but very very addictive nonetheless.

I got a problem with this game:

Installed on my XP2600+ Barton system with 1Gb ram and FX5900U, updated to latest nVidia drivers, and the game and editor runs corrupt, not heating issue corrupt, but big blocks of colour, stagnant icons, etc.....and the only way to exit the game is a reboot.

Installed on my P4 3.06GHz SFF with 1Gb of ram and a Ti4800 and the game runs great! Also with a XP2000+ and 9800AIW....

What seems to be the problem with my 1st system?

I agree most likely heat problems mate.

As far as the game goes I am not really that thrilled by it, oh well better sell it quick before the Mrs see's it.

yep as said no danger.gfx quite detailed, to run on lowest settings and res you could do it on no less than a geforce3 ti200 and that would struggle at that.

I've only played it for a bit, but I've enjoyed so far. The aspirations add direction and focus to the game, and the aging process forces you to make choices about your Sims, since you can't do everything.

On the negative side, it still is the same thing. I got bored of the original since it just got incredibly repetitive, doing the same thing day in, day out. Hopefully, the new features will provide some variety, but I feel that after a few more hours of playing I'll get bored - but I think it will last much longer than the original.
