    Watercooling and GPU Boost

    Hey all,

    I read in a lot of reviews that GPU Boost frequencies are dependant on cooling capabilities of the card's cooler.

    So, in theory, would creating a small water cooling loop to cool a GPU result in lower temperatures, therefore high boost frequencies?

    There are liquid cooler all-in-one solutions for GPUs which would be my approach as I transport my PC around a lot and need to minimise the risk of leaks and water damage.

    Yes, it should assist any kind of overclocking.
    However it is probably easier and better value just to buy the next card up, unless the next card up is a Titan!

    I'd be interested in seeing how much extra boost, say, a GTX 780 does under a full cover water block. I'm eventually going to water cool my PC, when the need to stop moving it about isn't an issue.

    I wouldn't expect to see much of an improvement in frequency unless you can also increase voltages and remove the power consumption limits. I would think in most situations it's Nvidia's TDP limit that holds back clock speeds.

    A GTX780 Asus Matrix Platinum or MSI Lightning BE type card with water cooling would really show what the GK110 chip could do, but last time EVGA tried that Nvidia got upset and made EVGA pull the plug on the card.
