    Best £100 graphics card?

Ok guys I've decided that it's about time I upgraded my GeForce 2 MX440 card to something a little faster.

I've got a budget of £100 +vat. What cards will give me the best performance for my money?

Where can you get a 9800 pro for £100!, if you know icehot i'd be interested in one for my brother's new pc.

I suppose for less than £100 a 9600 pro would do
Available for £80 and free delivery!.

But i'd save a little longer or borrow £20 off someone and get the 9800 pro for £119.99

Retek dont have any 9800's right now and Bit-tec are not taking new forum registrations so I can't view the one mentioned above.

I'm willing to pay £100 + vat so technically £117.50 incl.

I also don't mind overclocking to get the best bang for my money.

Well it looks like the 9800 pro from lowest on the web is the best option for your money, and overclocking maybe an options because some of the 9800 pro's are actually 9800XT cores which have been flashed with the pro's BIOS.

Yeah the re-teks are all gone thanks for the reply though steve

Will the fact that my system currently has pc133 ram slow it down in any way? I have an Athlon XP2400 and 1gb of pc133 ram...

My next upgrade will be new Motherboard, ram and processor but that will be a while off.

Yes PC133 ram will be a bottleneck, DDR is double data rate im not sure of the technical specs for it all i can remember is it can theoretically move twice as much data at one time. (Nowhere near as fast as this in real life)

Also PC133 will only allow a front side bus speed to the CPU of 133mhz whereas DDR can allow 133 DDR(266) and more expensive ram can allow 166(333) or 200(400) even more sometimes so the CPU is really bottlenecked actually im surprised you can run the CPU at 2400.

Im sure this will also effect Graphics performance, but the 9800pro is so fast that it will still be immensely faster than a GF4 MX, i'd think you will still be pleasantly surprised

I have a HIS 9800 Pro 128MB with Arctic cooler fitted, it is £165 + delivery online but you can have it for £130 inc delivery if you want.

Please take it off my hands!

I bought it for my new system but really wanted a 9800 All-in-wonder.
In the meantime I got the card I wanted, so I don't need this now, it is brand new and HAS NOT been opened.

    Here is the link: http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk/...ricecomparison

    PM me if your interested

Here is a Geforce 6600GT for £135 http://www.microdirect.co.uk/product...ProductID=7650 slightly over your budget I know but it will knock the spots off a Radeon 9800.
What mobo are you using as you may have to check it is compatable.
