thats nice but the power consumption is high with that one . Funny also that it only has 2 6pin connectors unlike the XFX which has X2 6pin and yet draws less power when gaming !
    really tempted though

    its a 7950 `lite` edition - rather than a 7870 `pitcain` based.

reviews shows the 7870LE is within 5% of a full on 7950

Re: XFX HD 7870 DD Edition 2GB worth to buy or wait ?

one 6pin connector plus the PCIe slot can provide 150W maximum. 2 6pins plus the slot can provide 225W. So a 151W will use 2x 6pin, and a 220W card will use 2x 6pin. Also, a lot of companies will over-spec the power supply to allow for greater overclocking - so you might put 2 6pins on a 130W card to make sure that if someone overclocks it a lot it will still be able to get enough power.

And the Tahiti LE version uses more power because it's *much* faster. It's a cut down 7950, so it's basically the next class of card up, with some tweaks. Obviously if having an uber-efficient PC is a serious concern to you then take that into account, but if efficiency is that important I'd wait anyway, because the current trend is for each generation to bring better performance with lower power draw.
