    GTX660 & 660Ti

    Hey guys,

I was looking at upgrading my 560Ti this afternoon and I popped on Amazon and I saw a 660 for £157 and since I work there I get a little discount so I bought it. After recieving the dispatch email I realised it was the non ti version.

So my question is; Would it be better if I sent back the 660 when it comes tomorrow and purchase a Ti thats around £35-50 more? Am I gonna get that much more performance for the extra cash?

    Cheers guys,

    Scott.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

If you're willing to spend £40~ more, you should be looking at the 760 imo. You'll definitely see an improvement from that.

Whether it'll be worth it or not depends on the resolution you play at, and the type of games you play really

For the most part im playing alot of Black Ops 2 @ 1920x1080. My 560ti is more than capable with AA turned off, I was merely looking for an upgrade as this one is quite old. I'll probably be playing a few of the future games, GTA5, BF4 and things of the sort.

I also currently run a dual screen setup. Both monitors running at the state res above. Although I dont game on both. The other monitor normally has Firefox open with FB and that sort.

    Thanks.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

I think £157 is a little much for a 660. I'm not sure how much of an upgrade it is going form a 560ti to a 560. I suppose it depends if you can enough for your 560 vs how flush you are!

CCL have a 660ti for 165 http://www.cclonline.com/product/869...ptor-/VGA0714/ there shoul dbe planty of reviews.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

You'll be looking at an average framerate gain of around 25-30% from a GTX660, or 45-50% from a GTX660 Ti. With a GTX760 you're looking at close to 60% gain on average. Like Ginger says though, £157 is a bit over-priced. If you get a 10% staff discount though then you got a decent deal. GTX660 Ti can be had as low as £180, or £195 for a GTX760.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

When I purchased it I assumed it was the Ti version and it was only when I got the dispatch email I realised what I ordered. I have it with me now, I'm gonna send it back and get a 760 from CCL. I've personally never heard of them but you guys have so I'll give that a go.

    Thanks guys.

    I'd return it and get a 670 or 760. Personally I'd get the 670

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

The arrival of the 760 has led to big reductions in the 600 series cards. You could get 660ti for around £170 and 670 for £200. Baring this in mind, the 660 doesn't look a good buy at £157.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

The 660 Ti beats out the 760 in a few occasions and the 670 beats it quite a lot (especially the MSI one which was £200 recently). So the 760 ends up costing more for less performance (compared to the 670). Something to be aware of.

Scan are currently listing a GTX 670 at £200.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

Silly Scan, if they had done that a few days ago I would have ordered it from them instead of Overclockers! I'd highly recommend the MSI 670 for £200 then.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

I got the 760 from CCL in the end. I'm pleased with the performance. I setup nvidia surround the other night on black ops 2 for a laugh and it was playable.

I'm happy with it although I saw yesterday that scan are selling the 670 for less then what I paid for the 760 so that's a kick in the teeth. I was thinking about sending the 760 back and getting the 670 but I haven't got my money back on the 660 yet and can't afford to spend another 200 lol.

    Re: GTX660 & 660Ti

Atleast you are happy with it hey. I know what you mean about prices at the moment. Although atleast with the 760 if you want to upgrade in the future you can get another one and sli them. With the 670 wouldnt be so easy as they are now eol.
