I have the F2 5800k and 16 gigs of ddr 3 dual channel 1866 ram. I have read a few reports on forms that the new richland F2 does not handle hyper-threading well and wanted to find out what would be a good video card to go with the 5800 chip. I do a lot of gaming like battle field and planetside 2, starcraft 2, etc.. any help is appriciated,

Hyper threading is an Intel technology and does not exist on AMD platforms.
If you meant Hybrid CrossfireX, it doesn't do very well in Toms Hardware tests. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...mark,3583.html
The 13.8 update doesn't affect Crossfire X according to the comment by one of the writers.
You are probably best off going for a discrete GPU based on your budget. How much do you have? Anything up to a 7870 or 660Ti/760 would be reasonable in my books.
What PSU and what budget do you have??
I am pretty sure he would be ok even with a 7770.
At what resolution he plays at?
I have a 700 watt psu and I have the system built. I have the 5800k amd f2 processor. 16 gigs of 1866 ram and i am currently using a amd 6870 video card with my F2 processor. I play my games at 1980 x 1020
That is actually quite a reasonable card. Are you really feeling that the system isn't delivering the desired performance?
I will stick by my earlier recommendation that a sweet spot card will be a 7870 or 660Ti/760. But to really feel a difference from your current card, you may want to go to a 7950/670.
I have a bad feeling that your CPU will start to run short, so you really should give consideration to getting a good cooler and overclocking your CPU first.
A HD 6870 is still a pretty decent card. You should be able to play most games quite smoothly at 1080p (except AA etc).
Your CPU is decent but as stated above you could try overclocking the CPU side of things if you feel it isn't good enough :) because any frame rate issues are probably caused by your CPU.
Throw up task manager and see what your CPU usage is for the cores when gaming, it'll give you a rough idea if your putting pressure on it.

Buy yourself a decent cooler, even second hand and chop-chop.
What MB does he have? Maybe he would hit OC limit with his stock cooler if he's got a no-name A55 board :P while he is at it, he might as well overclock the RAM as well. Ease the timings and try higher a frequency.
And do a bit of tuning on the GPU frequency as well plus on the card's memory. Good luck.
I have the asrock formula 6 F2 motherboard and it has it overclocked to 4200, I have the corsair cooler 110 with 2 140 mm fans on the closed loop. I havent overclocked muck so I am a little unsure of myself and settings. I have 4 140 mm fans and 6 120 mm fans on a corsair vengeance case(arctic white, not into the green look,lol). I was not sure my card would cut it for battlefield 4 is why I was asking, I have an Asus 4870 x 2 from another build I thought about using but I think bf 4 id DX 11 and the 4870 x 2 would not cut it.
A lot higher that 4.2Ghz I don't think it will go. Personally. Unless you pour some extra juice into the CPU. Then you could reach 4.5Ghz. Depending on your CPU.
The case cooling seems to be adequate.
The 4870 should equal a 7750 in the best scenario so BF4 in 1080p could be beyond your system currently, even if CF.
Maybe if you would comprise on the level of details.
true the cf might not cut it. I might have to save up for an intel cpu and upgrade to a new cpu/board/gpu/ when I get enough. I will have to wait and see what comes along. the 5 ghz amd is way too much for a chip that uses old technology motherboards.I was a firm AMD supporter but their prices are getting way out of hand.
