    Unflashing

    Hi everyone,

I flashed my 9800Pro to a 128MB XT yesterday, i can't see any difference in performance with games and my fans making a ton of noise on the GPU.

I tried putting the old BIOS back on the card, all was fine until it got the the welcome screen on XP where the monitor turned off.

    Am i doing something wrong?

    Many Thanks
    Ben

Also, would uninstalling the ATI Drivers, putting the old BIOS back and then installing them again help?

If it works fine to the windows logon screen then its the drivers, so just boot into safe mode and uninstall them, then reboot and reinstall them.

it's fine if i flash it back to XT though

So should i try uninstalling drivers, flashing back to pro and then installing drivers again?

Its probably because its trying to load the XT drivers instead of the pro ones.

yeh like he said you have to uninstall the ATI cats and reinstall them when its a pro, even though its already a pro the bios makes it think you have put in a different card
