    Zotac 780 AMP! BIOS Question

I just purchased a Zotac 780 amp. Can someone tell me how I can determine if it has the updated BIOS when I receive it? Y'all have a great forum. This is where I learned about the BIOS problem to begin with. Thanks!!

Re: Zotac 780 AMP! BIOS Question

I would guess the easiest way would be to go to the Zotac support pages here and then click on download but as far as I can tell there are no new BIOS versions to download so I can only assume that you must already have the only version available. I wouldn't bother trying to update this though, not unless you are having issues that clearly indicate some remedial action, such as a BIOS update, is required.

Re: Zotac 780 AMP! BIOS Question

Thanks for your reply Demon. I noticed the same thing about the BIOS rev. I found three versions of the BIOS and the most recent one was May 2013. It was the statement below from a Hexus review that made me question about an updated version.

"Zotac has since identified an issue in the graphics card BIOS, admitting that the card should perform better and a second, updated sample, is on the HEXUS test bench today. Zotac has confirmed that all shipping cards will come equipped with this revamped BIOS, which promises both greater performance and reduced noise..."

However, since the review was very recent, it may be that Zotac hasn't had time to publish the update yet. I'll check again in a few weeks and see what I find.

Re: Zotac 780 AMP! BIOS Question

I think you can at least check your current BIOS version when you look at the information on your GPU through DXDiag.

It might also show that information by looking through the different tabs in your GPU drivers, but I am not too familiar with nVidia drivers.

Thanks Vinny. I tried gpu-z on my existing rig and it identifies the BIOS rev just like what I'm looking for.
