    Re: GTX 780ti

This is a genuine head scratcher... The 780 is within spitting distance of the Titan and they still want to split that gap? Unless they are going to kill Titan off in favour of the 780Ti? Then instead of the headlines being 'nVidia drops price to compete with AMD's R9 290X', it will be 'nVidia launches 780Ti'.

    Re: GTX 780ti

Its quite funny how a lot of Nvidia card owners who were bitching and moaning about the R9 290X,are now lapping the GTX780TI up.

I really don't understand hardware enthusiasts at time.

    Breaking news:

Nvidia release a card no faster than a superclocked 780 to sit between the 780 and the Titan, just to try and pee on AMD's bonfire.

    Re: GTX 780ti

If it means a price drop for the vanilla 780, then that's all I care about. It's too expensive to bother with at the moment, while the new AMD cards are too power hungry compared to Nividia's offerings.

You mean the Furmark results?? You do realise,it could be a simple case of the Nvidia cards, throttling themselves in that situation, right?? Its been done before with previous generations.

Unless we see the FPS during games with power consumption figures, then its all meaningless anyway.

    Re: GTX 780ti

Fair enough. I nevertheless want a 780 if it sees a significant price drop. Then again if the 290(X) does equally well or better in tests, is priced comparably and turns out not to be a power hog, I may well go for that instead. I'm entirely brand-agnostic, having owned about an equal spread of ATI/AMD and Nvidia cards through the last eighteen years or so and before then a healthy mix of cards from Matrox, 3Dfx and S3.

Bit of a waste I think. My newly acquired evga 780 acx sc will be just as quick. It is a pity mind as I just got my card last week

    Re: GTX 780ti

I thought the 780ti is meant to be better then the titan because the nvidia guy said "best GPU that's ever been built." so in my eyes that would mean it beats the titan also I couldn't see them fitting a card between the 780 and titan as an overclocked 780 matches a stock titan so surely a better 780 would be the titan or better.

    Re: GTX 780ti

It'll be interesting. If it's better than Titan, will they charge $999 for it? If so it's going to look really bad value compared to the 290X, 'cause AMD have already said it won't be an uber-specialist $999 card. If not, they're going to have to take a huge axe to the Titan, and probably 780, pricing, which shouldn't go down well with anyone who's already bought those cards.

Then again, most nvidia fanboys seem to be more than happy to bend over and take it if it means they can keep flaming AMD in various forums, so I bet there won't be even a whisper of discontent among the faithful, whatever happens.

    Re: GTX 780ti

    2,880 (954MHz) Titan Ultra?
    2,688 (876MHz) Titan
    2,496 (954MHz) 780ti
    2,304 (902MHz) 780

If all the rumours are to believed I think it only makes sense if the Titan retires and is replaced.

    780ti vs 290x
The 290x is meant to be priced at the current 780 value approx. £500.

    770 vs 280x
The 770 is £300 with AMD £50 less, but this can be argued to reflect the performance. (Nvidia rumoured to offer a small discount in November, say £20 - £30 off)

    780 vs 290
At a guess I would expect the current 780 to get a discount of £50 - £100, but this will depend upon AMD's performance and pricing of the 290.

    Re: GTX 780ti

I think it shows something about Nvidia that they named the card 780ti rather than a 790 either they don't want the ****storm for naming a card another level up for what is the same with an overclock or they are going to release a 790 in the reasonably near future and that would be the Titan replacer.

I hope tomorrow, when 780 ti comes, the price will drop for 770. Will that be the case??
