Euro / USA Graphics Card Companies

I prefer a Euro graphics card than a Taiwan card, because i think they are prettier and less wobbly weird artwork. and if there are 14 taiwan companies i should see which ones are euro... so i checked out the list and essentially BIOSTAR usa, Point Of View-holland, and PNY usa (pny sounds like the nights of nee but it's paris new york :/ hehe)

so that's just 3 companies left vs, 12, we better keep em in business as i sense there is some freudian rivalry in between the 2 camps in my funny imagination and i bought 7-8 taiwan cards it's time i buy point of view one normally i see new companies i think. WHO are those new people based in a garage under a bridge. give ma a card that wont melt

Where do you think the cooler for your 'won't melt euro card' is made?

Same place as the Euro/USA cards. There's no difference between Asian and Euro/USA cards in that respect.

Re: Euro / USA Graphics Card Companies

Gigabyte have a UK based support centre, so regardless of where their head office is they still have one of the fastest response times to warranty issues and possibly the fastest for customers living in the UK.

Asus have agreements in place with reputable retailers/resellers that mean that the first line of customer support is through the people that you bought the card from, warranty issues won't be as quick but depending on how good the retailer is, they would get issues dealt with.

Some of the cheaper brands are building to budget, using cheaper components, but most building reference designs will be getting many of their parts from the same source, whether it's their coolers, chips or ram but then picking cheaper or better capacitors etc... The thing to look for isn't where the brand operates from, but how well they are able to deal with issues when customers are let down, so if you are in the UK look for a company with a UK or Euro based service centre rather than one where you have to send it to Taiwan or Texas for RMA processing.

In addition to the above, in addition to being generally excellent, EVGA deal with warranty/RMA requests direct - While this may sound a pain, it really does speed up the turnaround times.

Plus, the Step-Up program is pretty nice.
