    Which Heatsink is better ?

    OR

I have a Matrox Quad card which has a dead fan and I replaced it with the 2nd heatsink after applying fresh thermal paste. Now, I have a feeling the first heatsink is better but not too sure.

    Opinions guys!

The bigger one is probably slightly better (assuming similar materials, smoothness etc) but for a 2D only card like the matrox series I really wouldn't worry about either assuming theres at least some case airflow.

    I'd say the first,
It's bigger and should dissipate the heat a little more
Also looks big enough that it covers the ram and cools that as well

I'd think the second one is better on the GPU as it look like a greater surface area over the immediate area, but then the RAM has none.

Btw, There are no fans in the case, hence no airflow
