PRO - Really good price, backed by Amazon warranty and customer service
CON - It's XFX.
Overall I'd buy it.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
I would confirm the warranty status prior to buying, you don't want to have to deal with XFX at all.
That is an awesome price, not to sure about xfx as a company though, definitely look into the warranty
generally though i'd say go for it!
Are XFX really that bad?!
Check scan forums for refunds based on the time you've had it. The cooler is not the best; La Carte.
Some people say the card is fine others are not happy about the cooling on the vrms. I would get if possible a 7950 with an excellent cooler for about £30 less if i could. They'll have the same headroom with the 7950 falling about 5% behind but using less power.
Scan have an R280x for only £30 more..

Ha, I saw! Although it's £41 more when you take the shipping into account (I live in ROI, so no free Scan delivery and I get free shipping from Amazon). I am tempted though...... Is it worth £40 more?......
Hard to say. Not in raw performance, but it's a better cooler and a better brand.
Depends on your budget. If you have the 40 then I'd go for the HIS try amazon price matching ?

tbh I wouldn't spend £40 more to get an R9 280X over a 7970, given they're basically the same card underneath the cooler*. I would spend £30 less to get a 7950 with a better cooler and overclock it - even if you don't manage to get up to 7970 performance you've still spent a lot less money.
But if you want a certain guarantee of speed without the hassle of overclocking, then the XFX is both the cheapest and the easiest way to get that performance.
* a couple of points though: the 280X has a higher core clock so will be slightly faster, and it has a tweaked firmware to support using both DVIs and the HDMI for 3 monitors, whereas the 7970 still requires you to use one DP and an active adapter (or native DP monitor) - which might be worth the extra if you plan to use 3 monitors.

Ah, I'd forgotten that my case can only take cards of 11". I'd be cutting it a bit fine with either of them!
It's £203.75 on Scan anyway:

Ahh sorry didn't notice, sorry about that.
7950 are defiantly much better bang for buck, My His 7950 IceQ @ 1092/1490 1125v is only 3-4fps slower @ 1080p than my HIS 7970 IceQ @ 1050/1500 1175v - yet it cost 2/3 the price originally.
For £171.59 this is awesome: http://www.scan.co.uk/product.aspx?ProductId=68953
For £209.99 you cant go wrong with this: a proper card with a proper heatsink http://www.scan.co.uk/product.aspx?ProductId=75284
For £233.99 this is even more awesome as it's the best 2 slot cooler bar none http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=GX-091-HS
Just depends on your budget really!
