Can any R9 280X owners please let me know your VRM temps please (using GPU-Z, HWinfo 64 or similar). My Asus R9 280X DirectCUII TOP is reporting 64C for VRM 1 under load which is fine, but VRM 2 always seems to be stuck at 25C or 26C... Do i have a stuck/faulty sensor? I'm also wondering if it's down to Asus using a custom power phase?
Ok, i just installed Asus GPU Tweak and it only displays a single VRM temp (which works)... I think the VRM 2 temp found in GPU-Z is just a false reading and doesn't actually exist. I'm guessing it's down to Asus not using the reference power phase design (thankfully as this card is 100% coil whine free :)).
Anyone else own an Asus 280X with a stuck VRM 2 temp reading? I'm still thinking it doesn't exist, but i could be wrong.
It can happen with cards with custom VRM's my HIS 7970 cards give two VRM readings each of 25 degrees and never changes. Not much use to man nor beast! :shocked2:

My HIS 7950 had VRM readings stuck at 25C too! There's no telling how hot they got with that card :undecided.Quote:

I had an ASUS 7970 DCUII Top which vrm temps could not be read by any software except gputweak and then only one graph for Power Temperature was available. One version reported them incorrectly (100c+) while another version they never exceeded 65c.
