stupid drivers
ok heres the problems lads...
got a little 15inch tft monitor, its really nice, i wiped my system, a while ago installed everything with all my games, and every now and then it woudl black out for a few seconds, i THOUGHT this was overheating, but after just purchasing nfsu this problem became instatly worse, but somehow it has managed to uninstall the graphics drivers and it hasnt done this since, weird
i could easily reinstall them, but what i was thinkin was, is there specifc drivers, because this little tft monitor, only does 1024 x 768 resolution at max,
or has anyone else had this problem???
even a little box to tick or untick, ive tried moving the sliders up and down etc on most of the advanced bits in the graphics card box, but im lost
what should i do guys?

What graphics cards, and what drivers and versions?
-
asus 9600se with artic cooler at stock
was using the latest drivers off the ati site,
ive just been there all they have is the current ones
you alwayx sem to be of assistance mike_w
any ideas then?
-
When did it black out? Was it just during things that used the graphics card, like games, or was it at any time? Did it only happen with this set of drivers, or did it happen before?
You could try using previous drivers, they're all on the ATi site here: http://mirror.ati.com/support/produc...usdrivers.html (assuming you have Windows XP).
-
a lot in games, but sometiems jsut in the desktop or occasionally anytime, what one would you recomend, just for drivers, like, no control panel or nothing
-
I'd personally just try any drivers I hadn't tried before, to see if it helps or whether it just goes back to how it was before the driver was uninstalled.
-
wot tft is it, make / brand and model no?
-
-
it wotn let me instlal any driver,s mayeb the old ones werent taken out fully it gives me an error msg to install some agp driver first, hwo would i go about making sure i had fully uninstalled the old drivers???
-
Try using something like Driver Cleaner.
-
install the 4 in 1 drivers if it is a VIA mobo
edit: also dont discount overheating as it really sounds like this to me, perhaps the new drivers were using a bit more processing power so ended up overheating it then when it went back to default drivers from windows (or whatever) they are not as 'aggressive' so does not cause overheating

its an nf7-s ver 2.0
WTF AM I DOING, THIS IS A PIECE OF SHHHHHH, IT JUST WONT WORK! i went ahead and cleaned all the drivers up but it gives me this error msg what am i doing wrong?

Assuming that you've tried earlier drivers, you could try the Omega drivers - http://www.omegadrivers.net/
Bit of long shot though unfortunately, looks like you may have to backup and reformat (although somebody will probably come and save day in a minute) - how much bother would that be?

to install your original drivers go in to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device manager. Look for display adapters tree. Open it. highlight the card that is listed there (there should olny be one, if there aint this is the prob anyway). Right click and go to properties -> go to driver tab -> click uninstall. Reboot. When windows starts it should install a standard driver, LET IT. Reboot. install your ati drivers.

i had that when trying to install, as above install driver cleaner and use it, delete everything ati like in your add remove programs and go to death with uninstalling everthing ati, then there is normally an ati file : c:/ati and delete that
see what happens if you install now; or try driver cleaner
also before restarting pc, uninstall in this order
go to add remove hardware, then unistall video card, clcik no when it asks to restart (or right click on > my computer go to > properties > then hardware > then devices; find the gfx card right click and click uninstall (click no when it asks to restart))
go to ad remove hardware, uninstall all ati related stuff, control panel etc, and each time click no when it asks to uninstall,
then click on driver cleaner (just installed) and go through all the things to delete all ati files etc! make sure they are the only ati ones mind
then restart pc, and you shouild get loads of new hardware found on your next boot up, ctrl alt delete this and end the process now install the drivers and stuff, you should find that while this is happenening you have a **** resolution and crap graphics, that is cuz its the normal agp driver file, it will be fine after ur next restart
this worked for me tell me what happened with yours!
