must. not. buy. windforce 3x version.
Price hiked! If you can be patient wait till the new year - Dabs will get custom cooler 290 cards in, they always sell at RRP.
I woudn't be surprised if they are £60 less or more! OcUK think they are running a monopoly, price gouging to the core!
The windforce 7ks FWIR (new acronym!) used non reference PCBs. later versions were voltage locked and were a bit of a mare to unlock.
I would mull this over before lashing the clash on them.
Yes, Gigabyte did a switch and bait on their Windforce 7950/7970. I have a Windforce 7950 and not only were they voltage locked but since Gigabyte couldn't be bothered to bin the chips the default was 1.25V and only recently when the BIOS editor VBE7 came out was it possible to do something about that (running fine at 1000Mhz on under 1V now). Plus the monitoring chip on my 7950 is non-existent as I only get vcore, temp and fan; no VRM temps, GDDR5 temps or voltages. Like their motherboards but will stay away from their graphic cards from now on.
And yes OcUK are often expensive especially with something new but Gibbo was boasting at having already 50+ of them so someone is buying them.
I'm surprised no one else offering a pre order for them. Agree prices seem a bit inflated.
It seems OcUK already started shipping them:

They have got a whole load of other cards now.
thanks
