    6800 shortage?

From my point of view there appears to be quite a shortage of 6800s. Some of my favourite sites have none or just one or two models. When they do come in stock, by the time I have dithered and ummmed and arrrred, they are gone .

Think I did read somewhere of a massive increase in NVidia's %age share of the market.

So if you are after one and see a bargain that is in stock, grab it!

    Bo**ox there's a shortage in wafers!

It's all marketing strategy. Don't you wonder why the PCI-E cards are always in stock and you can find them anywhere? They're simply trying to make us impatient so we'll go buy a new mobo, cpu etc just so we can use a PCI-E card. I heard somewhere they'll be flocking out sometime in January...

Rubbish - as with most of your other posts.

They don't care what you buy (NV or ATi) They just wanna sell them

Not really interested in the Nvidia/ATI debate or the Linux/Windows or the AMD/Intel.....there are pluses and minuses for both (or all). I'm not going to try and persuade someone to buy what I just bought (as a way of justifying my decision). I know I want a 6800, so I will get one. Well I shall try .

All I am saying is that when I bought a processor, a PSU, some memory and a mobo recently, there were numerous choices of brands and models of the particular thing I wanted. But with top of the range GFX cards ATM it is unusually difficult.

Hmmm, I heard that the encoding that is supposed to be done through the on board vpu still uses some cpu resources and this is why some people think they are "faulty". You can choose to go ATi but bare in mind that they don't even support this vpu encoding lark.
