    Hey RVD

these cards are different in terms of the GPU. The R9 290 without x has a downgraded GPU and performs about 5 to 7 percent worse. So if your budget is big enough you should buy the R9 290X.

The real question is how big is your budget ?
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Re: I need your help please for choose my new graphics card

The difference is between they default core frequency: up to 947Mhz for R9 290 vs. up to 1000Mhz for R9 290x.

    Further differences:
    2560 Shaders + 160 TMUs + 64 ROUs for R9 290 vs. 2816 Shaders + 176 TMUs + 64 ROUs for R9 290x.

The above stated differences contribute to the already mentioned 5-7% dive in performance for the R9 290 as compared to R9 290x.

Re: I need your help please for choose my new graphics card

I've read in a review that the extra 5-7% in performance isn't worth the price difference between the two... but, it really depends on what you're willing to spend.

But good choice on the Sapphire, specially the Tri-X OC ones as they run cooler and perform better than most of their counterparts.

    That is the real difference.

    @andre
The 290X is definitely not worth its price compared to the 290. The Sapphire Tri-X is real good, although I have not tried it myself I would recommend it.

Re: I need your help please for choose my new graphics card

Its your decision if the 5 to 7 percent gain in performance is worth the extra money. You should mind that it is possible to overclock the R9 290X as well.

Re: I need your help please for choose my new graphics card

I initially had the Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290 and the Gigabyte Windforce OC R9 290 in my list, the Gigabyte is not as performant as the Sapphire but I personally prefer Gigabyte, and it was cheaper... Now I've neither of them...

Hey Wa1lock! Nice system! especially your internet pffff ahahah seriously what's that 6K about?

    Thank you
6K means 6000 kbit/s so basically my internet is really really bad.

I would personally take the Tri-X OC if I were you.
