6800GT Problems after 1 day, please help :(

Okay so I bought a PNY 6800GT and it arrived yesterday. It worked fine the whole day but about half an hour ago a game froze up and I had to restart. Now any game I load has blocks of flashing white or green pixels all over the screen and will crash after a minute or two. My system WAS overclocked, but its back at stock speeds now. Uninstalling and reinstalling drivers has done nothing to aid the problem

I have the following hardware -

    Pentium 2.4
    IC7 Max 3
    1 gig Corsair 400
    350W Enermax
    Some other junk

if anyone has any suggestions or ideas as to what the problem might be I would be very grateful for the input

Check the temperatures of the GPU using the Nvidia driver applet. Should be under 60 degrees on idle. Cores should be 350 and memory 1000 (I think)

Just take the side panel off, and leave it off

if the green bits are still there even on bootup and bios test screen, return the card as the video rams gone to memory heaven. I've had this issue before with a 5900 and a 5950U card.

Well, I only get the problem in game, not during boot up or in windows - although i have had that problem in the past with an MSI 4400. Anyway my Core temp is 53, ambient 37. I have requested an RMA for it, I guess I won't be getting a reply until Monday now....this card was supposed to sort me out before half life 2 hits Thanks for the replies and stuff, hopefully I can get a replacement which is problem free - the thing is because it only happens in game I just get the feeling that there is nothing wrong with the card...

Try Riva tuner (google it), there's an info display with a spinning circle thing. It lets you adjust aa and af on the fly while viewing.

Your core and ambient is the same as mine and mine is fine. Try re-seating the card, check the contacts are not contaminated, get the hoover on the AGP slot also try a different molex connector. Good luck.
