Well I wish I had a XT Pe right about now, my ultra is huge and heavy!
Now get a arctic cooler vga on it, with the massive ram cooler that goes on the back of the card,then you know what a heavy x800 is.lol
But is it worth the weight perfomance wise?

Il2 looks awesome..the 9800 Pro was good....really good...but ths is way more powerfull.....
its not been fiddled with yet either...in a few weeks I'll hard mod it for the extra pipelines :)
but for now, vanilla speeds...its muscle!
Ah so its gonna need the hard mod then? I was lucky with my x800 rma,I got sent a vivo with 1.6ns ram as a replacement.It softmods and if you can get the 16 pipes going you'll see a massive difference again.Doom 3 looks amazing now.
i dont mind hard modding....bios swaps mean not alot to me..i'll play with it in a few weeks time when I hasve time to spare, and see what the ranm goes too, and the core and see if a bios swap is worth it....but prob not bother.
I'll do the hard mod with the silver paint, and a magnifying glass ;) and we'll be sorted.
HOWEVER.....
Windows Media films now ALL play in negative colours :(

I have instaled the Cat 4.11 on this card...normally run a much lower version for Il2 on the 9800Pro....

The control panel has a WMV Support option :eek: but seems to make no difference really.
As cars go, I can see why people liked the X800 core from the outset....it is very powerfull, and hugely effective.
and best of all, IL-2 looks sexier than ever. More than can be said for the 6800's.

its not an XT PE chap..its a Pro..hence me needing to mod it one day soon :)

no link...its a long story, BUT Ebuyer had an X800 XT PE for...wait for it...£175 plus vat!!! and about 1000 people tried to buy the one card...me included...
we all got an email saying it was out of stock...except one Hexus member....so I offered to buy his old X800 Pro from him on the spot, money transfered instantly....
he effectively got an X800 Pro to X800XT PE upgrade for nothing....cos I paid him for his old Pro :)
We're both happy and plan to marry in the new year ;)
