Help need advise whether to Choose the 750ti or the new R7 260X

After asking a long series of compatible and performance wise questions, i finally came to the Decision to buy either the Nvidia 750ti or the new R7 260X ..
i really cant decide which one to buy.. I've been getting queries like, the AMD card isn't going to last long and i power hungry whereas the 750ti is not.
Personally i am more interested in the R7 260X but to me this is only a one time chance, so i cant afford to make any BAD decisions... MY specs are as follows
Processor : AMD Athlon X2 2400
Motherboard : M2N68 AM+
Ram : 4GB DDR2
PSU : Mercury 450 watt

Neither really, see Cat's post. But if you're determined to throw the money regardless, then either get the cheapest on the basis that they won't perform any differently in your set up or get the one with the lowest power draw on the off chance your PSU will cope. But it's a risk.

Soo I should at first get a new and improved setup, so that the cards i buy can get there their value...

GTX 750ti is what I would choose, so quiet and runs a lot cooler than anything I've had before which keeps case temps right down to allow for higher overclocking elsewher

I think this is the route I would go down tbh, it may be worth having a look at a motherboard bundle

At the moment i have a Broken down Nvidia XFX 9400GT ....

Ah ok.. for now if you just need to get the system working I'd lean more towards the 750ti

I generally stick the Gigabyte for graphics cards (due to their UK based warranty)

Just having a quick look around Scan seem to have a Gigabyte GTX750ti for the cheapest (although it seems to be a matter of a couple of quid between them)
