will be 3 months b4 u see 1 of them neway.
+ us poor folks with xt pe,s dont have pci express anyway so it aint all bad
xt pe are agp only
tru bouncin plus the recent benchmarks show that there is MINIMAL performance increase. so save your cash and get a x800xt
agp 4ever!![]()
AMD XP3200+
512MB x2 Kingston HyperX Dual DDR
Sapphire X800 XT Platinum Edition
Seagate Barracuda 80Gb x2 RAID 0
Dual Power Limited Edition GA7NNXP
400W PSU
DVD-RW (16x) CD-RW (52x32x52x)
Icemat 2nd Edition w/ MS 4.0
The X850 shows the smallest gain I've ever seen for a new card. Its a few % over a stock XT-PE, and slower than my overclock.
If I brought one and it didn't overclock as well, it could be slightly slower.
Ah well.
lol time to defend our purchases with all our might. That card is poop compared to my ati.
? has this taken the gfx wars to a new level ? ATI/AGP v NVIDIA v ATI/PCI,EXPRESS
Well, I defended mine with common sense, but feel free to defend yours with whatever you like.![]()
putting 512meg of memory would have helped sell it?
That would be the only thing wanting to upgrade from my xt pe.
AMD 3200XP, A7N8X-E Deluxe, X800XT PE, 1024m DDR400, 2xWD 74gb Raptors(Raid 0), USB2 IcyBox Maxtor 80g, Audigy + 5.1 creative, ThermalTake Tsunami Dream, Antec Neopower 480w, Icemat v.1, iiyama 22" VM pro 513, Saitek X52
That picture is an artists impression surely, just like the x800xt pe pictures![]()
ATi have said that this isn't aimed at X800XT-PE users; its not really an upgrade, as it runs a few % faster, and as I said, if your current X800XT overclocks well, you could end up with a slower card if the X850 didn't overclock as well.
Its aimed at people still looking to upgrade, who couldn't get an X800XT-PE, because they were tricky to get hold of.
still very nice cardi want one

Aye and all those poor people who couldn't afford a x800xt proOriginally Posted by Apex

Seriously it's only outdated when it doesn't do what you want, EVERYTHING in PC land is outdated by the time you can buy one, something bigger faster better is always just about to be released.
ok i ammend my statement it will be 2 and 1/2 months b4 u can get hold of 1 for personal use out of a commercial context
The X800XTPE seem likes just the PCI-E versions of the x800 series with a bit of a performance increase. There is no X800XTPE using PCI-E so I would say this card is natural for the new card interface format.
I for one am happy with my card and wouldn't give it up, considering how dam rare the PE is now![]()
